Hi! I’m Imogen. Lovely to meet you, and a very warm welcome to Love From Imi!
I’m in my early thirties, and I started this newsletter after a slightly chaotic period in my life!
In eight months I got married, moved out of the city I’d lived in for ten years, and lost my job. It was a lot.
Now I’m in a period of rebuilding my confidence, understanding and accepting that my life looks different to how I thought it would, and figuring out how to create a life that feels truly, genuinely me.
Why Love From, Imi?
I started Love From, Imi to make sense of the mess, my thoughts, my feelings, the tangled middle bits of life, and to share them in case they resonate with you too.
Because life doesn’t come with a manual. Sometimes you feel excited about major milestones, sometimes terrified. Sometimes a friendship fades and it hurts like heartbreak, but no one talks about that part. Sometimes, at 31, you still can’t answer the big “What do you want to do with your life?” question, and that’s perfectly okay.
These feelings don’t always match up to what we’re supposed to feel, and I don’t think we talk about it enough.
It’s easy to feel like we’re doing life wrong, but we’re not.
We’re just scared. Scared to be honest, scared to be judged, scared we don’t fit the narrative. But the stories we’re handed are often far too black-and-white for the layered, nuanced lives we’re actually living. And those are the perspectives I want to talk about.
So I started writing to open up discussions on the confusing, quiet, emotionally complex parts of life that we don't always say out loud. And maybe, by doing that, I’ll make it easier for you to say them too.
It’s a safe space to laugh at the chaos, nod along to those “same” moments, and maybe find a little light in the confusion.
A little more about me:
I recently swapped the very hectic city life for a smaller town, near trees and hills. It’s much more peaceful. I like it.
I’ve worked in strategy, marketing, tech, but I’m still figuring out what “career” means to me now.
I’m currently starting an MSc in Psychology, because I find it fascinating, and I can’t stop learning.
I truly believe that everything is better with personality—including your home. I’m currently renovating mine, and sharing the chaos (plus reflections and occasional illustrations) over on Instagram.
I also illustrate, having made my entire wedding stationery suite, complete with a little version of me and my husband. Oh, and I sell prints over on Etsy.
So, if you’ve ever thought, “Am I the only one who feels like this?”—you’re not.
You’re in good company.
There will be honesty. There will be humour. And there will be absolutely no pressure to have it all together.
